Pirates release the hostages on the boat Playa de Bakio


Hostages released from the boat Playa de Bakio. The fishing boat was seized by pirates off the coast of Somalia recently, and the crew held for ransom. The crew were held on the boat while the Spanish government worked for their release.

Crew of Playa de Bakio now FREE! and headed home :) Pirates still at large.

Le Ponant Yacht Hostages Released - Crew Safe !


Pirates that seized control of the French luxury yacht Le Ponant carrying 30 crew members Friday off the coast of Somalia have been detained.

The crew has now been released! They are safe and sound.

Clipper round the world yacht race in Hawaii



Clipper race yachts prepare for voyage from Hawaii to California.


Following a successful day of replacing rigging fittings on several of the Clipper race yacht fleet in Hawaii on Thursday, the Clipper Race Team has announced that Race 8 from Hawaii to Santa Cruz will start at 1100 am local time (2200 GMT) on Saturday 5 April.
